Appearance: Rather lanky, about 6'4, with jet black hair cut short, and grey eyes.

Personality: All-round nice guy, Darwin has always done things 'by the book', though he tends to get ever so slightly sick of living his life out of a text book, as most people would; honestly. Once someone gets to know him, he turns out to be the easiest person to talk to, about anything. He never seems to pass judgement on people, and cares about everyone more than himself. Of course, this kind of attitude is prone to get him into trouble in some situations. Though he is a first class fighter, and knows what to do in the heat of the moment.

Bio: Darwin's interest in the Navy came from an early age, as his father was a Navy officer, and quite a brilliant one at that. He was Darwin's mentor. However, Darwin had a disagreement/fight with his parents when he graduated from school, and announced his decision to join the Navy. They didn't want him to be a part of it, for fear they might loose him. This hit Darwin hard, but he had his heart set on enlisting, and nothing would stop him.

When he enlisted, he didn't even try to distance himself from his father, though it hurt every time they met. Slowly, the two arrived at a point where they were able to speak to each other without feeling as if their insides were being pulled out.

At the age of 27, Darwin finally met his future wife. They moved in together for a year before getting engaged. However, soon enough, the project Darwin was working on was slowly being sabotaged, apparently from the inside. It took the Navy months to find the leak, and when they found it, Darwin was horrified and broken to find it was his own fiance the culprit. He had to arrest her and has never been the same. It is clear that his blindness to her obvious deceit was because of his overlooking everyone's negative qualities to see them as a perfectly nice person.

When Darwin was asked to join the Atlantis project, there was no hesitation in agreeing. However, he did finally go to speak to his parents to say a final goodbye.

Now, in Atlantis, Darwin has a new life and new friends, though he will never forget his family and Earth, and every day he thinks of them, rather guiltily, fearing a death he will never witness, and thus he will never be there to comfort those he loves.

He served as second-in-command to Captain Gina Davies on Charlie Team for several months, before taking over command when injury forced the Australian out of the field. He was promoted from Lieutenant Junior Grade to Lieutenant around this time.
