Appearance: Brown skin and wavy dark hair - Gina doesn't have a lot of patience for the latter; it's always pulled back from her face in a practical bun or pony tail. She doesn't waste a lot of time on her appearance. Quite tall and enviably fit, it's clear that Gina likes to keep in shape.

Personality: Brash, loud and utterly tactless, Gina's one for saying exactly what she thinks, whether her thoughts are running along a favourable line or (more likely) not. Basically, she's the diplomat's worst nightmare. She takes great enjoyment in this reputation, and does everything she can to encourage it. She's rather a potty-mouth and swears a lot. An adrenaline addict, she's ruthess on the battlefield. Gina has a tendency to categorise people as either "good guys" or "bad guys". Good guys being anyone who's on her side, or at least against the bad guys who are against her. If you are one of the good guys, you'll be rewarded with her unwavering loyalty - Gina doesn't leave her people behind. If you're one of the bad guys... you'll probably regret it, if you live long enough.

Bio: Don't be too quick to judge her. Gina, too, play with dolls as a little girl -- but they were all either Action Man or Power Rangers, and most of them were missing at least one limb. A tomboy from early childhood, Gina has always played it rough. She was known in primary school for playing footy with the boys every lunch time, and for being the most ruthless Four Square player in the class. At the local all-girls' secondary school she attended football wasn't offered, but she did take up almost every other sport she could get into. Except cricket, of course, which is only for "fuckin' pansy-assed inbred poms".

Gina is intensely loyal to her family, despite never having a strong relationship with her mother or father - she is extremely close with her brothers and extended family. The concepts of "mob" and "family" are extremely important to her. Her father, a Koori, was born in the southern state of Victoria as one of the Wurundjeri people; her mother, who hailed from Canberra, was descended from Irish immigrants. Gina's father was usually at work, trying to support the family of five children - which left to kids to deal with their mum. Though her older siblings can remember a time when their mother was sober, Gina's strongest memories tend to consist of going with her brothers to help mum out of the pub. Her unmarried aunt Nola - dad's sister - is the closest thing to a mother Gina can remember. Her actual mum's death, when Gina was 9, seemed at the time more of a relief than anything else.

At 18, fresh out of high school, she enlisted in the Australian Army, but quickly became frustrated by the limitations placed on women in the Aussie forces - under Australian federal law, women could not be employed in direct combat roles. Gina began exploring other pathways. By the age of 21, she was able to transfer to the United States Marine Corps, where she relished in the new challenges she was confronted with as she started from the bottom rung once again, attacking each new obstacle with characteristic determination.

Having served over eleven years in the Corps - six of them in the elite Force Reconnaissance - Gina had almost started to believe that life couldn't surprise her any more... until that Stargate thing came along. Offered the opportunity to join an expedition to an alien galaxy as part of a security team, what else was there to say? (Well, apart from, "You're fucking kidding me.")

Initially serving on Charlie Team, Gina was restricted to base duty for several months as she recuperated from an injury received in the field - this seems to have been more painful for everybody on base, however, than it has been for Gina (if only marginally).
