Appearance: Short, jet black hair and brown eyes, Harrison's good looks have always earned him much attention from the opposite sex. Fortunately, his wedding rings are a sign for some girls to back off - the more pushy/desperate, whatever we want to call them, still decide to ignore those rings.
Personality: Harrison is a very weary person of any new encounter - especially now that those he meets with aren't likely to be human. He's very protective of those close to him, frightened of losing anyone or letting them get hurt themselves. He's quite cheery and always makes everyone feel welcome, finding it easy to make new friends.
Bio: Much like his sister, Harrison was brought up in a kind, generous household, with his cousins living next door. Unlike his sister, however, he never recieved scorn from his peers during primary school, and so has always had a very high regard for himself - that's not to say he's proud, but he's never been insecure.
It wasn't until around his later years in secondary school when his life began to get interesting. His then girlfriend, who he'd been dating for a couple of years, was in the car with her father one day. It hadn't occured to anyone that there was anything horribly wrong with the man, but everyone felt horribly guilty afterwards for having not noticed his suicidal tendencies. The man crashed his car into an oncoming truck, he died instantly, but his daughter took five days of pain and blood loss in hospital before she died, too.
Harrison, although he moved on, never quite got over the shock that someone could go at any instant, for any reason. He did grieve properly at the time, but as a matter of caution - or just because he can never stand to lose anyone - he's always been horribly protective of anyone who comes near him, not letting them do certain things and so forth. It's kind of annoying.
His deicion to join the Air Force was purly one of chance - and how he met his future wife. His sister, Kara, talked non-stop about things like flying and so forth, and one day he was tempted to go and 'check it out'. He was quite pleased with himself when this led to his sister, Ellie, joining the Navy, which she so dearly loved.
Years of experience and his expertise meant that Harrison was fairly soon chosen to come along on a few offworld missions just a few months before Ellie's first mission. It stunned him quite a bit - so much so that it became a good idea to not bring the man offworld very often, although he was useful. He was just useful enough to be part of base staff.
The choice to bring him to Atlantis was difficult - they needed someone like Harrison, but they needed someone who wouldn't freak out while going through the Stargate. The chance to go to a place like Atlantis, however, was too great an offer to refuse, and so for this one time, Harrison conquered his fears.
