History

Don’t believe in violence, torture, etc, among themselves because they believe their people have suffered enough. Since they aren't exactly a very advanced race, but happen to have a vast amount of space on their planet, other races have therefore found out and tried to take it over. Being very unaccustomed to random strangers coming in and requesting part of their home (and being quite nationalist and protective) the Lamorakians did not take kindly to this. The races who had been refused refuge, from possibly the Wraith, felt inclined to defend their rights to come to another planet. Therefore, over the years, they have 'bred' (as they refer to it) a very proud, prestigious army.

Somehow, the Wraith has barely ever made an attempt over the many millions of years to destroy Lamorakians. This is quite confusing to the Lamorakians, who believe themselves to be of quite a vast population (they are completely wrong).

(Note: women have nothing to gain by marriage, no matter who a woman is married to, it does not make her any better than any other woman.)

Appearance

Lamorak is an enormous planet (for its population, compared to others, it’s rather small), really, most of it grassy green, flatland. The forest areas are mainly on hills, though these are all fairly moderate climbs. The main residence of the Lamorakians – as they don’t require too much space – is a sort of castle, quite majestic in appearance, the same size as Buckingham palace. Inside this palace, decorated with natural gems of the planet, are many small cottages, which takes up half of the space. The other side is taken up by the official’s offices and buildings, and the training ground for the armies.

Out the front of the city, are the fields where mostly women work, as the men are too busy running the city and training defense forces. It is a fair bit of a hike from these fields to the forest on the hill, where the Stargate is situated; however visitors can be seen coming for miles by the women out working. Usually this is how they prepare themselves.

Behind the city, a narrow stream flows past, and disappears over the edge of a cliff. This is the only cliff in Lamorak and it leads down to the ocean. The stream expands before the cliff, and turns into a magnificent waterfall. The Lamorakians have, therefore, had to make some amazing fishing devices in order to get food.

Most of the land has gone unexplored for many years, since records explain exactly what is where. The Lamorakians don't exactly have any use for the rest of their land, but they pride themselves in the fact that they are blessed with such a vast space.

Politics

For as long as their history has recorded, Lamorakians have had the same political system. One High Minister, ruling over everything and making tough decisions (and usually responsible for trading partners); three Upper Officials, watching over the army of Lamorak and bringing forth any problems; five Lower Ministers from different backgrounds with different views and ages to advise the High Minister; two Consults for the benefit of the people, who may come to these two at any time to request a solution to any problem.

Warrior is the first step for a Lamorakian male; and it is the way that every male goes. He begins as a lower ranking warrior, and eventually proves himself as he rises through the ranks until he may, very well, become an official if he has the personality and intelligence for it, or a commander.

Beliefs

Women in the Lamorak society have never been equal to men, simply because they were so obviously capable of much, much less than men. Given the same job as a man, no woman in the planet's history has done a better job. As a rule, females are weaker, less intelligent and always prone to injury. Since there are circumstances when they are required, and also without them there would be an end to the race, women are actually fed, at least.

As a result, however, men have always adopted a patronizing, superior attitude towards women. Always women have been treated incredibly badly and given hardly any respect. A lucky woman might have been given some chance to meet her father. A woman's birth is no exactly celebrated on the planet. The Lamorakians accept that they would not be able to do without females, but they would much rather there be far more males – and there are, from chance, which further supports their argument that men are superior.
